E!’s New Plan For TV Dominance Includes Soaps, A Soup Spin-Off, Ryan Seacrest, & Kevin Spacey!

Hope you’re hungry, TV fans, because E! is piling loads of juicy new programming onto your plate!

The NBCUniversal owned network just announced it ordered a slew of new series and plans to develop over a dozen new dramas, many of them scripted!

Known for shows like Married to Jonas, The Soup, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians, many fans are surprised by E!’s entry into scripted television, but some of the network’s ideas are intriguing!!

Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Gossip Girl) will help to develop Laurel Canyon, a dramz-filled soap about a girl who returns to Hollywood to be with her family after her rock star legend of a dad passes away.

The Stand-In is a modern day, El Lay retelling of The Prince & the Pauper and is produced by Ryan Seacrest!

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey will produce Fortunate Son, an upcoming show about what happens to the Prince of Hollywood after he’s framed for crimes he didn’t commit.

In addition to new scripted dramas, E! will produce a bunch of sweet new reality shows, too!

The Soup Investigates seeks to go behind the scenes on reality shows and give you the HIGHlarious deets you never knew you needed, Sex & Real Estate is precisely what it sounds like, and Young Sonoma follows the lives of rich & powerful vineyard families who rule the Sonoma Valley!

Sounds like we have tons of TiVo-ing to do!

Joshua Jackson Prefers Space-y To Pacey

Joshua Jackson doesn’t like to dwell on the past; he’d rather look to the future. Specifically 2036.

In a recent interview, Joshua said although he looks fondly on his time on Dawson’s Creek, he is much more excited about his current home on the time-travelling, dimension-hopping Fringe.

The veteran actor can’t rave enough about the cult favorite Fox show. Pacey Peter Joshua told The Guardian:

“I don’t know how much you’ve heard about [Fringe], but it’s this huge, outlandish science-fiction spectacle. The whole thing is a lot of fun, very inventive.”

So would Joshua ever consider revisiting the Creek? It seems unlikely. On moving on, Joshua says:

“I’m not surprised that some people never readjust and move on. But that’s the trap. Because if you don’t, you’re dead. If you don’t grow as an actor, you really shouldn’t be working.”

Whoa! Was that a subtle jab at former co-star James Van Der Beek?

Alternate Universe Joshua Jackson could not be reached for comment as he is starring as a hilarious version of himself on Don’t Trust The A- In Apartment 32.
