Kelly Clarkson Walks Away From American Idol Gig, NOT Returning As Judge!

NOOOOOOO!!!!
Oh man, having the ORIGINAL American Idol return as an AI judge would have MADE season 13! Sigh.
Rumors have raged concerning the identifies of next season’s American Idol judges ever since news broke that NONE of the current judges will be invited back…
And we were THRILLED to hear that Kelly Clarkson, along with former AI contestants Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson, are all in talks to fill the vacant spots.
But unfortunately, it seems the the beautiful belter will NOT be returning to the show that launched her career, as her rep has DENIED her involvement.
However, thank the AI lordz, cause J-Hud has been CONFIRMED as a judge for season 13! Huzzah!
And IF they secure Adam Lambert and other former AI participants, perhaps the throwback hiring will be enough to save the show from cancellation.
Fingers crossed!

Well it’s about time, wouldn’t you say?!
We’ve been watching Mariah Carey feud with her co-judge Nicki Minaj all season long on American Idol, but finally, during last night’s larger-than-life season finale, the diva finally took the stage to do what she’s much better known for – her SUPREME and INCOMPARABLE vocal stylingz!
And that’s not all!
Gurlfriend used the opportunity to take us all on a trip down memory lane, with a medley of her most beloved tunes, including Vision Of Love, Make It Happen, My All, Hero, We Belong Together…and of course, her latest #Beautiful, which just became her 27th number one on the R&B/Hip Hop Charts!

Bruno Mars: Your Next American Idol Judge!?

He just might be if executives have their way.
And we approve!
Now that American Idol seems to be revamping their judge’s panel yet again, Bruno Mars could find himself in one of those spinning cushy chairs.
In fact, he could find himself scoring a spot VERY soon if things go right. A source revealed:
“He’s super talented, amazingly charismatic, and well-liked by industry professionals and young fans. [Producers] are looking into making him an offer very soon. They’re looking to lock down next seasons judging panel sooner than later.”
But he’s not the only one who might be negotiating an offer any day now.
We knew a couple former Idols were under consideration, but it sounds like Idol knows who they want to lock down as the source added:
“They’re currently happy going with a three-person judge panel, and would really like to add a former Idol to the panel. Harry Connick Jr., Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars is their so-called ‘dream team.’”
Well, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson will always be our dream team, but this would be a damn good backup team!

Nicki Minaj Only Judge To Not Perform On Idol Finale!! Major Snub, Or Something Else??

Hmmmm did Mariah Carey have something to do with this!?!?
Turns out, Nicki Minaj is just a little too seXXXy for American Idol’s liking!!!
All of the other judges delivered AH-mazing performances on the Season 12 finale last night, so it was SUPER noticeable when Nicki was the only one to NOT take the stage.
Nicki explains why she didn’t perform AND why her High School music video didn’t premiere on the show:
“I was supposed to premiere my ‘High School’ video on Idol but they said it was too risque. I had already committed to the Billboard Awards to perform my single ['High School'], and so I wasn’t allowed to perform it on Idol and perform it on Billboard [both].”
Well, good thing the Billboard Music Awards are only a couple days away!!
We can’t WAIT to see her Minajesty perform High School there!!

Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, & Randy Jackson Reminisce Over Their Idol Past–Reunion In The Works?!?!?

It was the combination of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson (and the talent) that initially got the world hooked on American Idol, so maybe the only thing that can save it would be getting the original trio back together!!!
And perhaps, just perhaps, Simon is starting to think that too???
Over the weekend, Simon tweeted one of the nicest things we’ve ever heard from him, saying:
Randy leaving idol made me remember that Paula randy me and Ryan had the best time. I miss them.
